Course Description
The course introduces students to new techniques in Geographic Information Science such as web mapping, applied techniques, and/or visual analytics. Students will explore: how to recognize and work with various kinds of geographic data, how to visualize those data, how to interpret the data, and how to share geographic information on the Internet.
Course Objectives
- To be familiar with geographic theories and technologies for the production, management, and use of geographic data
- To learn how to use most recent software and internet mapping skills related with our topics
- To learn the basic knowledge of techniques to distribute, process and display geographical data via the Internet
